With the support of over 45 trade union organizations
Our Secretary-General of UOCRA, Gerardo Martínez, participated in the presentation of the "index of inflation of workers", which was carried out in the framework of the formal launch of the Statistical Institute of Workers (IET).
With the development of the new indicator, it is expected that each trade union can have reliable numbers on the evolution of prices and their impact on workers of each activity.
This initiative is developed by the Statistical Institute of Workers (IET), institution driven by the Center of Innovation of Workers (CITRA), which conducts the Metropolitan University of Labour (UMET) together with researchers of The National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET).
The launch event, which took place in the UMET Auditorium, was attended by leaders from over 45 trade unions belonging to CGT and CTA, which agreed in highlighting the strategic value of the production of knowledge
The Secretary-General of the Building Workers Union of the Republic Argentina (UOCRA), Gerardo Martínez, participated in the meeting and welcomed the initiative.
"There is an evolutionary process of the trade union movement that allows us to grow and take specific definitions in relation to the power in Argentina. However, when we had to discuss collective bargaining negotiations we used reputable numbers but provided by third parties. The scientific part was a pending issue" emphasized Martinez.
