MERCOSUR Economic and Social Consulting Forum (FCES) is the representative organisation of the MERCOSUR Member States social economic sectors, and integrates its institutional structure following the stipulations of the Ouro Preto Protocol.
By means of the FCES, the civil society of the four countries composing the MERCOSUR (210,485,000 people) can express itself about different subjects that show the concern and aspirations of the sectors integrating it: businessmen, workers and different sectors representatives.
Its constitutive session was carried out in Buenos Aires on 31st May 1996, where the internal regulation was approved, and homologated a few days later, on 21st June, through the Common Market Group (GMC) Resolution N� 68/96.
