Priest Jose Maria Di Paola, better known as Father Pepe, essential referent for the so-called "slum priests" and protagonist of a brilliant task linked to the social, educational, labour insertion and of prevention and fight against Addictions in the most vulnerable sectors of our society, visited UOCRA and met our General Secretary Gerardo Martinez.
The meeting was attended by members of our technical-professional team that develops the Programme on Prevention of Risk Consumption of Alcohol and Other Psychotoxic Substances, aimed at the training of our work delegates on this problem, which affects our society and impacts on the world of work. At the meeting, Gerardo Martinez described how UOCRA Social Network is composed, features and objectives of the several institutions that make it up and emphasized on the importance our trade union gives to the programme on prevention of addiction carried out by UOCRA. Father Pepe highlighted the political decision and commitment of UOCRA against this social problem and praised the work methodology that our Union launched through the prevention programme: "For me it is an excellent idea the training for works delegates in the task of prevention of addictions. Delegates know as nobody else experiences of co-workers, have a leadership, communicate with a common language and have a direct connection. "We implemented a similar format of work with a program called Positive Leaders." In the framework of this meeting, Gerardo Martinez and Father Pepe agreed to develop joint actions related to this theme as well as training actions in the future.Tweet
