Trade Union Technical Advisory Council COSATE - OEA


The Trade Union Technical Advisory Council (COSATE) is a permanent advisory body of the Inter-American Conference of Labour Ministers (CIMT), of the Organization of American States (OAS), which is in charge of promoting recommendations to the CIMT for the planning and execution of programmes promoting the participation of workers in diverse national and international development activities. The COSATE consists of representatives from national trade union organisations from each OAS member State.

Within the framework of the XVI CIMT carried out on 6th and 8th October 2009 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and under the motto of "Facing the crisis with development, decent work and social protection", Gerardo Martínez was unanimously elected as the successor of this body president Roberto Giuseppi by the COSATE members.
